Thanks for helping us choose a launch idea for the Neighbours Day 2017 campaign!

Watch this space, as we’ll be kicking off the campaign with the most popular idea, in early December.

Do you live in Wellington?

Hey Wellingtonians, did you know that applications for Neighbours Day 2017 funding from Wellington City Council are open right now?!

Organisations and societies can apply for grants of up to $500 for Neighbours Day 2017 activities.

Applications close at midnight on Friday, 28 October 2016, so get your application in now.

Find all the details and apply via the Wellington City Council website at:  http://wellington.govt.nz/services/community-and-culture/funding/neighbours-day-funding

*This funding is made available directly by Wellington City Council, if you have questions about applying, please get in touch with the council directly.  Contact details are available here.

Don’t live in Wellington?

Many other councils, local boards and Neighbourhood Support groups around the country also make funding or supermarket vouchers available for Neighbours Day.

Check with your council or local board for the dates that their applications are open; most councils Neighbours Day grants and support applications do not open until after the New Year.

And of course, always remember, that whatever you choose to do for Neighbours Day, it doesn’t need to be expensive – invite a neighbour over for coffee, have a picnic and ask everyone to bring a plate – and it’s a communal event, so asking everyone to contribute something is part of the fun.

If you work for a local council or local board, and are planning to be a part of Neighbours Day this year, or would like to know more about how you can take part, we’d love to hear from you.  Email us at kiaora@neighboursday.org.nz
